Abstract

The aim of this paper is, first, to recall the distinction drawn by Ortega between the “technical” way of doing philosophy and the “literary” way. Secondly, to show in which precise sense this “technical” form of philosophizing claimed by Ortega would amount to phenomenology. And, thirdly, to point out the relevance of this question to correct understanding of the phenomenological bases of Orteguian ethics.
