Author Biography

Miguel Ángel Náter, Universidad de Puerto Rico

Professorial Chair in the Department of Hispanic Studies at the Río Piedras Campus of the University of Puerto Rico. He has published books in his field of expertise—Hispanic American theater and literature—as well as studies on Puerto Rican literature in peer-reviewed, internationally renowned journals. Over the past fifteen years, he has conducted extensive research on Puerto Rican literature in 19th- and early 20th-century newspapers and magazines, which will result in the book Archivo de poesía en Puerto Rico: desde los orígenes a la década del 30 (Archive of Poetry in Puerto Rico: From the Origins to the 1930s). This research has also yielded his critical and annotated editions of classic works and lesser-known texts. He directs the Federico de Onís Seminar, the long-running Revista de Estudios Hispánicos, and currently serves as editor-in-chief of the Revista General de la Universidad de Puerto Rico (La Torre).
