Abstract

In this article, we study Gregorio Marañón’s position in the well known intergenerational struggle between Miguel de Unamuno and José Ortega y Gasset in the years that preceded the republican juncture. In this period, Marañón showed he was closer to Unamunian leadership, at least, until 1925. Afterwards, he gradually swung to positions that were closer to those of Ortega y Gasset, positions that merged in the shared boost of the Agrupación al Servicio de la República.
