Abstract

Ortega y Gasset was one of the finest spirits of the 20th century, yet his relevance goes far beyond his time. As a dialogical philosopher Ortega saw life as a permanent dialogue with oneself and with the others. “Life is a task”, he often stressed. His image of Spain, Europe and the world remained a dialogue of cultures in making. Ortega was a thinker of a time of crisis who had the courage to think beyond the logic of crisis.
