The traumatic experience of those who chose Argentina as the land of exile escaping from the Spanish Civil War, achieves special relevance in the light of Ortega y Gasset’ s correspondence with his fellow members. The letters reveal difficulties encountered in a country exposed to ideological changes at a national and international level in which concepts and etymologies are subject to the daily confusion of private relationships. This situation affected personal communications between editors competing for the lucrative market of the Spanish book, in a sensitive journalist and academic atmosphere due to the tensions emerging from Europe’s wars and social changes within Argentina.
