Author Biography

Béatrice Fonck, Instituto Católico de París

Professor of Modern and Contemporary History in the Department of Spanish at the Faculty of Arts of the Catholic Institute of Paris. She is the author of a doctoral dissertation titled L’intellectuel et la politique d’après José Ortega y Gasset dans ses articles de presse hispanique (1914–1931), University of Paris X, Nanterre, 1993. Among her numerous academic contributions, notable works include the book 1898: Littérature et crise religieuse en Espagne* (Septentrion, 1999), as well as the articles “An Analysis of *España invertebrada in Its Context” (1996), “A Thinker of Europe” (2004), “Ortega’s European Challenge” (2006), and “The Reception of Ortega in France” (2008).
