Abstract

This essay analyzes the interpretation of the rationality of the Peruvian philosopher Francisco Miró Quesada Cantuarias from the consequences of the crisis of science that demonstrated the impossibility of a general theory of reason. (1) The analysis of meta-theory: its notion, its difficulties and its main historical antecedents. (2) The analysis of the causes of the crisis of reason and the link with classical rationalism. (3) The analysis of the interpretation of rationality according to Miró Quesada under the inspiration of the philosophy of José Ortega y Gasset.

Author Biography

Jean Christian Egoávil, Universidad del Pacífico

He holds a degree in philosophy from Antonio Ruiz de Montoya University. He wrote his thesis on the logic and ontology of John Duns Scotus and defended it in November 2017. Furthermore, he is currently a professor of philosophy at the EPU of the Universidad del Pacífico (Lima, Peru) and works as a research assistant collaborating with Professor Dr. Alonso Villarán. The result of this work is the knowledge and dissemination of the thinking of the Peruvian philosopher Francisco Miró Quesada Cantuarias. He has published a series of electronic entries in the Glosario de Indias (Glossary of the Indies) with the Indian Studies Project of the Universidad del Pacífico, which are brief studies on the development of philosophy, especially logic, during the Viceroyalty of Peru.
