Author Biography

José Ramón Carriazo Ruiz, Universidad de La Rioja

Researcher at CILENGUA (San Millán de la Cogolla), professor of Spanish Dialectology and Lexicography in the Faculty of Arts and Education at the University of La Rioja (Logroño), and a member of the research team responsible for the new edition of Ortega’s Complete Works (José Ortega y Gasset Foundation -Taurus, 2004–2009), he has researched various aspects of the language and the editing of Ortega’s texts (primarily the philosopher’s working notes) and is an expert in the history of Spanish, historical lexicography, and dialectology. He is also the author, together with Iñaki Gabarain Gaztelumendi, of the essay “Linguistics, Semantics, and Semiotics in Ortega y Gasset” (in Meditations on Ortega y Gasset, 2005) and of the articles “Ortega and the Cataracts of the Nile” (Revista de Occidente, 2007) and “A New Lexicographical Tool: CONCORDANTIA ORTEGUIANA: Concordantia in José Ortega y Gasset opera omnia” (Revista de Lexicografía, 2008).
